Educator.
An educator committed to teaching, as an act of social justice, is one that is consistently working to cultivate equitable spaces that raise the voices and perspectives of students and colleagues that are racially, ethnically, and culturally diverse.
Writer.
A writer committed to storytelling and elevating the voices of those forgotten by intentionally crafting narratives that illuminate underrepresented truths, amplify marginalized voices, and challenge dominant narratives through multiple perspectives.
Facilitator.
A facilitator committed to dialogue who thoughtfully designs and holds space where diverse voices are not only heard but honored while fostering reflection, connection, and collective learning across lines of race, ethnicity, and culture.

Equity isn’t a buzzword.
Equity and Cultural Competence start with building awareness. Engaging in the work of Cultural Competence, as an educator, is a lifelong commitment. As educators work with diverse groups of students and colleagues along the way, it is critical that we do the work to identify how our experiences have impacted our journey.
