My teaching experience spans from Pre-Kindergarten to adults with a specialization in educators and organizational leaders. My teachings have an emphasis on relationship-driven, active, and engaging learning. My teaching philosophy is that “you cannot separate a tree from its roots” so I spent a lot of time getting to know the families and contexts that my students came from which is still my approach as an organizational leader. With knowledge of who my students were and where they came from I was able to teach my students from a place of understanding and community. I develop professional development in a similar way. My sessions focus on:
-Black Women Educators, Burnout, and Wellness
-Cultivating and Facilitating Affinity Spaces
-Unpacking and Resisting Bias
-Co-Creating PLCs
-Educator Engagement
-Parents (and Family Members) as Partners
-Teacher & Student Relationships
-Literacy for Young Learners (Using Technology & Traditional Approaches)
-Understanding Your Students’ Love Language
-How Improv Sharpens Your Teaching Skills Through Improv
